Become a Member

Who can become a member?

Membership in the League, one of the most respected and effective grassroots organizations in the country, is open to individuals of all genders who are at least age 16.

Why should I join?

In addition to supporting the League, your membership gives us the influence needed to provide a voice for the people and be a force for change. You become a member of the New York State League and the United States League when you join the Port Washington-Manhasset League. You will have the knowledge that you are adding your voice to a powerful force of members from all 50 states.

How much does it cost?

For a single membership, the annual dues are $60.  To add a second member of your household (living at the same address), it's $90 per year.  A third adult member (also at the same address) is $120.  Dues for students are free (see below); they need to fill out the registration form rather than being counted as members of a household.

The LWV of Port Washington-Manhasset keeps only a small portion of your membership dues. The rest goes to support the state and national Leagues in their important work. Please consider joining at a higher level or making an additional contribution! All the extra dues and contributions stay with our local League.

Students must be younger than age 25 and enrolled full-time or part-time in an accredited institution; students 16 or older will be voting members of the League.

a 501(c)4 organization which accepts contributions to support our advocacy work, which makes contributions non tax-deductible.

a 501(c)3 Education Fund, for which donations can be deducted from taxes
